Premios anuales “Manuel Fernández de Castro” a los mejores artículos publicados
Con objeto de reconocer el esfuerzo de los autores y la calidad de los trabajos que se publican en el Boletín
Geológico y Minero, se establecen los premios a los mejores artículos publicados cada año.
Se consideran dos categorías:
• Premio al mejor artículo publicado a lo largo de cada año natural.
• Premio al mejor artículo publicado, en el mismo periodo, por pre-Doctores o Doctores recientes.
En la primera categoría participarán automáticamente todos los artículos publicados en el Boletín Geológico y
Minero sin necesidad de que sus autores realicen ninguna acción. El mero hecho de someter un artículo para
su publicación en el BGM implica la aceptación de las presentes bases y las decisiones del Jurado, constituido
por el Comité de Editorial.
En la segunda categoría se considerarán los artículos cuyo primer autor esté realizando su tesis doctoral o
dentro de los dos años siguientes a la obtención del título de Doctor. En esta categoría sólo participarán los
artículos cuyo primer autor cumpla el anterior requisito y exprese, por escrito, su deseo de que su artículo sea
valorado en dicha categoría. La participación de estos artículos en la primera categoría es automática, dado el
carácter de la misma.
En ambas categorías, el Comité Editorial considerará la calidad científica del trabajo publicado y su contribución
al avance del conocimiento científico en cualquiera de las áreas de las Ciencias de la Tierra. Los premios se
concederán al final de cada año y consistirán en una mención y diploma honoríficos.
“Manuel Fernández de Castro” Best Paper Awards
The best paper awards are established in order to recognize the effort of the authors and the quality of their
work published in the Boletín Geológico y Minero.
There are awards in two categories:
• Award to the best paper published each year.
• Award to the best paper published each year whose first author is either a PhD student or in the two following
years after having finished the PhD degree.
All the papers published in the Boletín Geológico y Minero are automatically included in the first category
Those papers whose first author is a PhD student or an author who has obtained his/her PhD degree in the
last two years are included in the second category. Obviously these papers are automatically considered in the
first category as well. However, to participate in the second category, the first author must apply to do so by
sending a letter to the Editorial Board.
In both categories, the Editorial Board will judge the scientific quality of the published papers and their
contribution to the advancement of the Earth Sciences.
The awards will be given at the end of each year and will consist of an honorary diploma.
