Dear Parent or Guardian,
Your child ___________________________________is going home from school today with symptoms of illness. KISD Administrative
Regulation FFAD is in place to ensure the health and safety of all students and states that students who exhibit vomiting, diarrhea, or a fever
≥ 100, must be excluded from school. Re admittance is allowable as follows:
o
Free of fever (<100) for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
Common trade names of products containing these medications include, but are not limited to Tylenol, Motrin and Advil.
All aspirin-containing products should be avoided.
o
Food and liquids have been tolerated for at least 24 hours without vomiting and/or diarrhea, and without the use of medication
to relieve symptoms.
o
Students diagnosed with a contagious illness that is being treated with prescription medication, must complete a minimum of 24
hours of the prescribed medication dosage prior to returning to school.
A DOCTOR’S NOTE DOES NOT SUPERSEDE THE “24 HOUR RULE”

Su hijo/a ___________________________________se está retirando hoy de la escuela y está yendo a su casa con síntomas de enfermedad.
La Regulación Administrativa FFAD de KISD se encuentra vigente para garantizar la salud y la seguridad de todos los estudiantes. Por
consiguiente los estudiantes que presenten un estado de vómitos, diarrea o 38º C (100º F) de temperatura o más, deben ser excluidos de la
escuela. Se permitirá el re-ingreso de la siguiente manera:
o
Si no tiene fiebre (<38ºC – 100ºF) durante por lo menos 24 horas sin utilizar ningún medicamente que reduzca la fiebre, como por
ejemplo acetaminofén o ibuprofeno. Nombres comerciales comunes de productos que contienen estos medicamentos incluyen de
forma enunciativa más no limitativa, Tylenol, Motrin y Advil.
Deberán evitarse todos los productos que contengan aspirina.
o
Si se han tolerado los alimentos y los líquidos durante por lo menos 24 horas sin vómitos ni diarrea y sin utilizar ningún
medicamento que alivie estos síntomas.
o
Los estudiantes a quienes se les haya diagnosticado una enfermedad contagiosa y que se estén tratando con un medicamento
bajo prescripción médica, deberán completar un mínimo de 24 horas de la dosis del medicamento bajo prescripción médica antes
de regresar a la escuela.
LOS CERTIFICADOS MÉDICOS NO ANULAN LA “REGLA DE 24 HORAS”
