Los materiales adjuntos ofrecen información comprehensiva acerca del examen ACT®. El ACT es un
examen de admisión a la universidad que mide el rendimiento académico en ciencias, matemáticas,
lectura, inglés y redacción. (El examen de redacción es opcional). El ACT es el examen de admisión
a la universidad más popular en Estados Unidos. Por favor comparta esta información con sus
estudiantes que estén planeando solicitar ingreso a universidades o institutos de educación superior
en Estados Unidos o en cualquiera de más de 200 universidades en todo el mundo que aceptan el
ACT para admisión.
El ACT es aceptado por todos los institutos de educación superior y universidades de Estados

Nuevas calificaciones e indicadores de preparación
Los estudiantes recibirán nuevas calificaciones e indicadores de preparación diseñados para
demostrar su rendimiento y preparación en áreas que son importantes para el éxito después de la
escuela secundaria. Las conocidas y confiables calificaciones de 1 a 36 no cambiarán. Las nuevas
calificaciones e indicadores incluirán: calificación STEM, indicador de Progreso para la preparación
para una carrera profesional, calificación de Artes de la Lengua Inglesa e indicador de Progreso para
la complejidad de textos.
Examen de redacción de ACT mejorado
El examen de redacción de ACT continuará siendo un examen de ensayo opcional con una sola
pregunta. A partir de este año, los estudiantes recibirán una sola calificación a nivel de materia en
una escala de 1 a 36 en lugar de una calificación de redacción integral en una escala de 2 a 12.
Los estudiantes también recibirán calificaciones de cuatro importantes dominios de competencia
de redacción, cada uno de ellos calificado y reportado en una escala de 2 a 12. La evaluación
independiente de los dominios críticos de competencia permitirá a ACT identificar mejor las fortalezas
que demuestran los estudiantes en su redacción, además de indicar deficiencias específicas. Vea

The enclosed materials include comprehensive information about the ACT® test, which measures
academic achievement in science, mathematics, reading, English, and writing (optional). The ACT is
the university admissions test taken most in the United States. Please share this information with your
students who are planning to apply to universities in the United States or at any of the more than
225 universities worldwide that accept the ACT for admissions.
All US universities accept the ACT because it is relevant, effective, and grounded in research, without
the need for making radical or sweeping changes to the test. More students now take the ACT than
the SAT.
The ACT is Reliable and Consistent
Students and universities have relied on ACT scores for more than 50 years to determine how well
prepared students are for university courses. The ACT is the only university admissions test that offers
a science section and score. In addition to the STEM Score, the ACT Score Report also provides
tools to help students identify university majors that match their interests, abilities, and values using
information from the ACT Interest Inventory, the Student Profile Section, the Career Map, and the
Career Readiness Indicator.
ACT Test Prep Resources
ACT offers multiple ways to help prepare students for the ACT test by providing students with flexible
options to match students’ preferred way to study.
• ACT Online Prep™—Allows students to prepare anywhere, anytime online and with the mobile
app. Results from the practice tests create customized learning paths for the student.
• The Official ACT Prep Guide—An ACT-authorized test prep book, with five practice tests and
explanations for all the right and wrong answer choices. Each guide provides an in-depth look
at the optional writing test.
• Sample Test Questions—Preparing for the ACT, a free study guide with practice questions,
provides a sampling of what to expect on the ACT test.
