Notice of Required Identification
A voter must show one of the following forms of photo identification at the polling
location before the voter may be accepted for voting:
• Texas Driver's License issued by the Department of Public Safety ("DPS")
• Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS;
• Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS;
• Texas Concealed Handgun License issued by DPS;
• United States Military Identification Card containing the person's photograph;
• United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person's photograph; or
• United States Passport.
With the exception of the U.S. citizenship certificate, the identification must be current or have
expired no more than 60 days before being presented for voter qualification at the polling place*
*lf you do not have a valid form of photo identification, you may apply for a free election
identification card at your local Texas Department of Public Safety office.
Exemption: Voters with a disability may apply with the county voter registrar for a permanent
exemption. The application must contain written documentation from either the U.S. Social Security
Administration evidencing the applicant's disability, or from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
evidencing a disability rating of at least 50 percent. In addition, the applicant must state that he or she
has no valid form of photo identification. Those who obtain a disability exemption will be allowed to
vote by presenting a voter registration certificate reflecting the exemption.
Provisional Voting: If voters do not present one of the forms of photo identification listed above and
do not have a permanent disability exemption indicated on their voter registration certificates, voters
may cast a provisional ballot at the polls and will have six (6) calendar days after election day to
present a valid form of photo identification in the presence of the county voter registrar. Voters who
have a consistent religious objection to being photographed and voters who do not have any photo
identification as a result of certain natural disasters as declared by the President of the United States or
the Texas Governor, may vote a provisional ballot, and if they appear at the voter registrar's office
within six (6) calendar days after election day and sign an affidavit swearing to the religious objection
or natural disaster, then their ballot will be counted.

Aviso de Identification Requerida
Cada votante debera demostrar una de las siguientes formas de identificacion con foto en
el sitio electoral antes de ser aceptado para votar:

Licencia de Conducir de Texas expedida por el Departamento de Seguridad
Publica ("DPS", segun sus siglas en ingles);
Cedula de Identificacion Electoral de Texas expedida por DPS;
Tarjeta de Identificacion Personal de Texas expedida por DPS;
Licencia de Texas para Portar un Arma de Fuego Oculta expedida por DPS;
Cedula de Identidad Militar de los Estados Unidos con fotografia
de la persona;
Certiflcado de Ciudadania Estadounidense con fotografia de la persona; o
Pasaporte de los Estados Unidos.
Con la excepcion del certificado de ciudadanfa estadounidense, la identificacion debera estar vigente; si
no la esta, no debe estar vencida mas de 60 dfas en el momento de presentarla para calificar como
votante en el sitio electoral *
*Si no tiene una valida identificacion con foto, usted puede solicitar una tarjeta de identificacion
electoral sin costo alguno en una oficina local del Departamento de Seguridad Publica de Texas.
Exencion: Votantes con una minusvalidez pueden solicitar una exencion permanente del registrador
de votantes de su condado. La solicitud debera incluir documentacion por escrito de la Administracion
de Seguro Social de los EE.UU. dando evidencia de la minusvalidez del solicitante o del Departamento
de Asuntos Veteranos de EE.UU. dando evidencia de una valoracion de discapacidad del 50 por ciento
o mas. Ademas, el/la solicitante debera declarar que no tiene forma valida de identificacion con foto.
Quienes obtengan una exencion por minusvalidez podran votar al presentar el certificado de votante
que demuestre tal exencion.
Voto provisional: Si los votantes no presentan ninguna de las formas de identificacion con foto
anteriormente especiflcadas y sus certificados de votante no llevan la clave que demuestre exencion
por minusvalidez, estos podran valerse del voto provisional en los sitios de votacion y tendran seis (6)
dias naturales despues de la eleccion para presentar una forma valida de identificacion con foto en la
presencia del registrador de votantes local. Votantes con objecion religiosa constante hacia tomarse
fotos y votantes sin ninguna identificacion con foto por razon de cierto catastrofe natural tal cual lo
declare el Presidente de los Estados Unidos o el Gobernador de Texas, podran valerse del voto
provisional. Las boletas de tales se contaran si se presentan en la oficina del registrador de votantes
local dentro de seis (6) dias naturales despues del dia de elecciones y si firman la declaracion jurada
para afirmar su objecion religiosa o catastrofe natural.
