TEMA 3 " the solar system "
-Solar system vocabulary: Sun- sol, moon- luna, stars -estrellas.
Planet- planeta, rocket- cohete, satellite- satélite, telescope- telescopio.
-The sun is a star and it is the center of the solar system. El sol es una
estrella y es el centro del sistema solar.
- There are 8 Planets in the solar system . Hay 8 planetas en el sistema
solar :Mercury, Venus,Earth,Mars, Jupiter, Saturn , Uranus, Neptune.
-All the Planets move around the sun. Todos los planetas se mueven
alrededor del sol.
-Mercury is the closest Planet to the sun. Mercurio es el planeta más
cercano al sol.
-Neptune is the furthest Planet from the sun- Neptuno es el planeta más
alejado del sol.
-The earth is called blue Planet. We live on earth. A la tierra se le llama
planeta azul. Vivimos en la tierra.
-The earth is always turning on it's axis. This movement is called
rotation. La tierra está siempre girando sobre su eje.Este movimiento se
llama rotación.
Because The earth rotates we have days and nights. Porque la tierra rota
tenemos día y noche.
It takes 24 hours to rotate. Necesita 24 horas para rotar.
-The earth orbits around the sun. La tierra gira alrededor
del sol. It takes 365 days to orbit around the sun. La
tierra necesita 365 días en girar alrededor del sol.
Because the earth orbits we have seasons. Porque la
tierra orbita tenemos las estaciones.
There are four seasons: spring-primavera summer- verano,
autumn- otoño and winter, invierno. Each season has got three months.
Months: January-February- March- April-May-June-July-AugustSeptember-October - November - December.
The moon:
A satellite is an object that moves around a Planet or star.
The moon is a satellite. La luna es un satélite .
The moon orbits around the earth. La luna gira alrededor de la tierra.
Phases of the moon:fases de la luna:
new moon -luna nueva , first quarter- cuarto creciente, full moon-luna llena
Third quarter- cuarto menguante
new moon.

full moon.
