Firstly, in this essay about the economic situation of Navarre, I have wanted the reader to
realize that the industrial sector has been since the early 60´s as necessary as important in order
to get the current situation of Navarre. It is clear that the conditions of its labor market are not
promising. However, in good times, the economy of this region seemed to be more developed,
as the rate of unemployment didn´t tend to be as high as the Spanish one.

Maybe this was the reason that lead to me analyze it, given that the most of the essays I had
found about this topic were focused on the automotive industry, I decided not to skip the
others, the idea that lies on this decision is that the real Industry of Navarre consist of a wide
range of SME enterprises, whose influence over the economy is not usually regarded.
In this essay I will analyze every sector of the Industry but the automotive sector.

Este trabajo estará enfocado principalmente al sector no automovilístico de Navarra, donde en
primer lugar, se describirán brevemente cuáles fueron los orígenes del sector industrial, dando
especial importancia al Plan de Promoción Industrial llevado a cabo a principios de la década
de los sesenta.
A continuación, se analizarán aquellos sectores industriales no automovilísticos, aunque debido
a su cantidad no será posible profundizar en todos y cada uno de ellos. De esta forma se
seleccionará aquellos con mayor relevancia sobre el total de la economía navarra. Para ello se
tendrá en cuenta el número de empresas, la cantidad de puestos de trabajo que genera cada
subsector y su cifra de negocios.
