Sinopsis: En el arte, uno de los
temas mas frecuentes es sin duda el
paisaje. Pero ¿hay que entender éste
como
un
espacio
inerte,
ideológicamente neutro o como algo
dinámico, cambiante, subjetivizado
por la mirada del artista y del
espectador?
En el mundo contemporáneo el
paisaje es una construcción mental,
intelectual, donde factores culturales y
estéticos ayudan a conformar una
determinada visión del territorio. Y precisamente porque el paisaje “se construye”, hay que
considerar las múltiples lecturas que pueden surgir a partir del mismo espacio físico, los
diferentes planos de análisis o intelectualización del territorio, la subjetividad de la mirada.
El territorio está formado por elementos, objetos y espacios, está ahí aunque nadie lo mire. El
paisaje, sin embargo, es lo que es porque lo miramos de una determinada manera, con una
intención intelectual, estética y social.
La exposición ‘Detrás del paisaje’ propone detenernos ante una serie de obras que mediante la
acumulación de información, el mapeo del territorio o la resignificación de la imagen, bucean
más allá de lo evidente y muestran la diversidad de lecturas en un mundo en permanente
estado de cambio, enfrentado a sus propias contradicciones.
Sobre el artista: Miguel Ángel García es un fotógrafo y artista visual que ha desarrollado su
actividad creativa sobre la base de la experimentación y la fusión de disciplinas y técnicas en
torno al mundo de la imagen. Sus últimos proyectos se caracterizan por un intenso trabajo
documental, centrando su creación artística en una relectura del territorio, acumulando
significados en las imágenes, a modo de capas, como síntesis y reflexión sobre lo que muestra
y oculta cada fotografía.
Art statement: In art, one of the most common issues is the landscape. But we must
understand this as an inert space, ideologically neutral or as dynamic, changing, subjectivized
by the look of the artist and the viewer?
In the contemporary world the landscape is a mental and intellectual construction, where
cultural and aesthetic factors help the vision of the territory. And precisely because the
landscape "constructed", there are so many readings that may arise from the same physical
space, the different levels of analysis or intellectualization of the territory. This is the subjectivity
of the gaze.
The territory is made up of elements, objects and spaces. It is there even if you are not looking
it. The landscape, however, is what it is because we look a certain way, with an intellectual
intent, aesthetic and social.
The exhibition 'Behind the landscape' proposes to stop a series of works by accumulating data,
mapping the territory or the redefinition of the image, dive beyond the obvious and show the
diversity of readings in a world in permanent state rate.
About the artist: Miguel Angel Garcia is a photographer and visual artist who has developed
his activity on the experimentation and fusion of disciplines and techniques around the world
image. His latest projects are characterized by an intense documentary work. He is focusing on
a reinterpretation of the territory, accumulating meanings in the images into layers, as a
synthesis and reflection on what each photograph shows and hides.
