Anna Kazejak
Anna Kazejak es directora y guionista. Nació en 1979, se graduó en Dirección en la
Escuela Nacional de Cine Polaca en Lodz. Debutó con el largo Ode to Joy, una película
en tres partes realizada con dos compañeros de carrera, que se convirtió en un influyente
retrato de una generación que crecía en un país post- comunista. Aclamada como uno de
los mejores debuts en años, el filme recibió numerosos premios (Premio Especial del
Jurado - Gdynia Film Festival, 2005; Premio Platinum a la Mejor Producción de Bajo
Presupuesto - WorldFest Independent Film Festival, Huston, 2007). Esta película fue,
además, la primera película polaca proyectada en competición en el Festival
Internacional de Cine de Rotterdam y formó parte de la sección oficial a competición en
el Festival Internacional de Cine de Valencia - Cinema Jove. Su segundo largo, Flying
Pigs, fue bien recibido tanto por la crítica como por la audiencia. En el último año ha
dirigido la versión polaca de la muy conocida serie de HBO, In Treatment.
Con The Word, Kazejak participó en el Mercado de Coproducción durante el Festival
Internacional de Cine de Berlín.
Anna Kazejak is a director and screenwriter. Born in 1979, she graduated from the
Directing Deptartment at the Polish National Film School in Lodz. Her feature film
debut, Ode to Joy, a three part film made with two school mates, became a seminal
portrait of a generation growing up in a post-communist country. Acclaimed as one of
the best debuts in years, the film received numerous awards (Special Jury Prize Gdynia Film Festival, 2005; Platinum Award for Best Low Budget Production WorldFest Independent Film Festival, Huston, 2007). This film was also the First Polish
Film to Screen in competition at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and was part
of the official competition at the Valencia International Film Festival Cinema Jove.
Her second feature, Flying Pigs, was well received by both critics and audiences. Last
year she directed the Polish version of the well-known HBO series In Treatment.
With The Word, Kazejak took part in the Coproduction Market during the Berlin IFF.
