TOMORROW is class picture day! Students may come uniform free but please make
sure they’re dressed appropriately for school. All students will take the picture but
ONLY students that have their $10 in the envelope, will receive a picture. Make sure
you have the exact amount in the envelope, we DO NOT provide change.
¡MAÑANA es el día de fotos de clase! Los estudiantes pueden venir libre de uniforme,
pero por favor asegúrese de que estén vestidos apropiadamente para la escuela. Todos

Reminder: The Counselor will have a table near the front
entrance with information on various colleges and the Duke
Tips Application Process during Parent Conference. Please feel
free to come by to say “Hola” or to discuss any concerns
about your child.
Recordatorio: La Consejera tendrá una mesa cerca de la
entrada principal con información sobre diversos colegios y el

We plan to resume the Food 4 Kids Weekend Backpack
program. Please remember to return your Backpacks to Ms.
Reeves since this week’s order is slated to be ready for
distribution this Friday.

We will be accepting Student of Character Nominations for
the Third Six Weeks. Feel free to pick up an application from
the front office to nominate your son or daughter for being an
outstanding Student of Character.
Estaremos aceptando Nominaciones de Estudiantes con
Caracteres para las tercer seis semanas. Siéntase libre para
recoger una solicitud de la oficina para nominar a su hijo o su

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we would like to
encourage parents to discuss the importance of tolerance and
acceptance of diverse people, thoughts and ways of living.
Take time over the MLK Holiday to explore and celebrate
diversity (Eg: Cook an ethnic-themed dinner, Plan a Chinese
New Year Party ~ Feb 8th, Rent a foreign-language movie
with subtitles for Movie Night, Visit the French Impressionist
Exhibits at one of our local Museums of Art, etc.) You can
give a hand and help celebrate Diversity at Zaragoza too! Ask
for a handprint cutout from the front office to write & post
something special/unique about yourself on the Counselor’s
BEAUTY LIES in DIVERSITY Billboard.
En honor del Día de Martin Luther King Jr., nos gustaría animar a
los padres para discutir la importancia de la tolerancia y la
aceptación de las personas diversas, pensamientos y formas de
vida. Tómese el tiempo durante la vacación de MLK para explorar
y celebrar la diversidad (Ej. Cocine una cena-étnica temática,
Plan una Fiesta para el Año Nuevo de China ~ 8 de febrero,
Alquilar una película en lengua extranjera con subtítulos para la
noche de película, Visitar los Anexos francés impresionistas en
uno de nuestros museos locales de arte, etc.) ¡Usted puede dar
una mano y ayudar a celebrar la diversidad en Zaragoza
también! Pida un recorte de huella de la mano en la oficina para
escribir y publicar algo especial/único acerca de ti mismo en la
Cartelera BELLEZA ESTÁ en la DIVERSIDAD.
Guidelines:
1. You must SHOW the process involved in
the solution of the problem (drawings,
computation, etc.) as evidence of your
work.
2. Teachers can provide you SOME
guidance, but not the answer.
3. Be prepared to explain how you solved it.
4. Wait until Wednesday (not before, not
after) to turn in your answers.

back to their house, their mom asked what they had seen. Brandon said they saw
some chickens and pigs. Vanessa agreed and said they counted 18 animals.
Brandon hadn’t noticed but had counted 52 legs. If Brandon and Vanessa are
correct, how many chickens and pigs were there?
3rd-5th: Allan puts some brown sugar on a dish. The total weight of the brown
sugar and the dish is 110g. Bella puts trice (3 times) the amount of brown sugar
that Allan puts on an identical dish, and the total weight of the brown sugar and
the dish is 290g. Find the weight of the brown sugar that Bella puts on the dish.
