THE PRESENCE OF THE
Exodus 3:1-8,13-15
HOLY
1 Corinthians 10:1-6,10-12
In our first reading today Moses, hiding
out in the desert, is drawn to and then
overwhelmed by the holiness of God. He
thought he could hide from his life in
Egypt, but there is no escaping God. From
the miraculously burning bush God speaks
to Moses, having told him to remove his
sandals because he is in the holy presence of God,
and gives him his mission to return to Egypt to
liberate God’s people.
How do you encounter the holy presence of God?
How do you respect the holy presence of God?
Where do you hear the Holy Voice speaking to
you? God may not be speaking to us from burning
bushes, but the Divine Voice speaks to us all daily
in our communal and private prayer, in the needs
of others, through our interaction with others, in
the Scriptures… God is calling out to you and
inviting you to enter into God’s holy presence so
that this holy presence might sanctify you, give
you new life, renew your vision and liberate us
from darkness.
Stop. Take off your shoes. You are on holy
ground.

En nuestra primera lectura de hoy
Moisés, escondido en el desierto y
abrumado por la santidad de Dios. Él
creyo que podía ocultarse de Dios en
Egipto, pero no hay escapatoria de los
ojos de Dios. El Señor se le apareció a
Moisés en una llama que salía de un
zarzal, diciéndole: “Quítate las sandalias, porque el
lugar que pisas es tierra sagrada” es ahí donde
Dios le pide a Moisés que vuelva a Egipto para
liberar a su pueblo.
¿Cómo encuentras diariamente la presencia de
Dios? ¿Cómo respetas la presencia santa de Dios?
¿Dónde escuchas la voz de Dios que te habla?
Quizás Dios no nos hable actualmente en zarzas
ardientes, pero la voz divina nos habla a todos
diariamente en nuestra oración comunitaria y
privada, en las necesidades de los demás, a través
de nuestra interacción con los demás, en las
Escrituras... Dios te está llamando en este
momento y te invita a entrar en su presencia santa,
para que su presencia te santifique, te otorgue una
nueva vida, purifique tu visión y te libere de la
oscuridad. Detente! Quítate los zapatos. Estas en
tierra santa.

Every Friday evening at 6:30 we celebrate the Stations of the
Cross. Come and reflect on the love Jesus showed us in his
Passion. We pray as well for those who carry the cross today.
