REQUEST FOR STATEMENTS "FOR" OR "AGAINST"
THE SPECIAL BUDGET OVERRIDE ELECTION
SOMERTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 11
Somerton Elementary School District No. 11 of Yuma County, Arizona (the “District’), will hold
a special 15% maintenance and operation budget override election on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. The
total 15% budget override amount for the first year of the new override is estimated to be $1,700,000 and
will be paid from certain unallocated moneys now available to the District. The Yuma County School
Superintendent will be preparing an information pamphlet that will be mailed to households containing
one or more registered electors within the District. Any persons wishing to submit a statement "for" or
"against" the proposed 15% budget override (not to exceed 200 words) may do so by mail or hand
delivery of the statement to the Yuma County School Superintendent's office, 210 S. First Avenue, Yuma,
Arizona 85364; telephone: 928-373-1006.
To be included in the information pamphlet, such statement must be received in the office of the
Yuma County School Superintendent on or before 5:00 p.m., August 17, 2013. Such statement must be
signed and include the name of the District, author's name, the name of any entity submitting an
argument, address and telephone number. The entity and author’s name will be printed in the information
pamphlet. The last day to register to vote in order to be eligible to vote in this election is Monday,

El Distrito Escolar de Enseñanza Primaria Número 11 de Somerton del Condado de Yuma,
Arizona (El "Distrito"), celebrará una elección especial de sobrepasar el presupuesto de mantenimiento y
manejo 15% el martes, el 5 de noviembre de 2013. La cantidad total de sobrepasar el presupuesto 15%
para el primer año del sobrepasar nuevo se estima en $1,700,000 y será pagado de ciertos fondos no
asignados que ahora están disponibles para el Distrito. El Superintendente de Escuelas del Condado de
Yuma estará preparando un folleto de información que será enviado a los domicilios que contienen uno o
