Its that time of year again for the annual Herfurth Elementary Talent

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Hooray! Its that time of year again for the annual Herfurth Elementary Talent Show. Auditions will be held in
front of a panel of teachers after school starting at 3:45pm to 5:45pm, Tuesday May 3rd and Wednesday, May 4th in
Mrs. Brewer’s music room.
All students who audition need to have parental supervision before and after their audition. Students will not be
allowed to stay after school alone until their audition time. Also, auditions are closed. Only the judges and performer
will be allowed in the room during the audition. All students auditioning must be passing all their classes and have a
behavior recommendation from their classroom teacher in order to receive an audition time.
We are looking for unique and polished routines. Unfortunately, we have a time limit and must restrict acts to two
minutes. If you are late or miss your time there are no make up days, so please be on time.
Please note that on the day of the talent show, if the student did not attend the dress rehearsal, or if a costume is
inappropriate, the act will not be allowed to perform. We will enforce the G.I.S.D Dress Code.
The following acts are ones we would prefer to see: 1) piano or instruments 2) singing to karaoke or
accompaniment track 3) dance, twirling, gymnastics routines, etc. What will NOT be allowed is LIP SYNCING! We
would like to hear YOUR voice! If you are preforming with a group: every member must have a parent signature,
be passing their classes, and have teacher recommendation from every member of the group.
If the performance meets the above criteria, it could be selected to perform for the entire school on Thursday,
May 19th at 1:30-2:30pm and again at the PTA meeting at 7:00pm. There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal May 18th
from 3:45pm to 5:00pm.The acts chosen to perform at the talent show will be posted after school on Friday, May 6th\.
All acts must be “G” rated. NO suggestive or age inappropriate material will be accepted, no exceptions.
Students are responsible for bringing their own music and props. This can be on a CD or MP3 player.

Estimados Padres y Tutores,
Está aquí otra vez ese tiempo del año en el que tendremos el Show de Talentos de la Primaria Herfurth. Las
audiciones se llevarán a cabo frente a un panel de maestros después de clases de 3:45 a 5:45, el Martes 3 y miércoles 4
de mayo en el salón de música de Mrs. Brewer.
Todos los estudiantes que audicionen necesitan supervisión de sus padres antes y después de la audición. No se
les permitirá a los estudiantes permanecer solos después de clases hasta su audición. También, las audiciones son
cerradas. Solo a los jueces y al estudiante se le permitirá estar en el cuarto para audicionar. Todos los estudiantes que
audicionen deben estar pasando todas sus clases y deben tener de su maestro de clase recomendación de su
comportamiento a fin de recibir una fecha de audición.
Buscamos rutinas únicas y pulidas. Desafortunadamente, tenemos un tiempo límite y debemos restringir la
actuación a solo dos minutos. Si llegan tarde o no asisten a la fecha que se les dio, no lo podrán hacer otro día, así que
por favor llegue a tiempo.
Por favor tome nota que el día del show de talento, si el estudiante no participó en el ensayo de vestuario, o si su
vestimenta es inapropiada, su participación no será permitida en el programa. Aplicaremos el código de vestir del
Distrito Escolar de Garland.
Estas son las actuaciones que preferimos ver: 1) piano o instrumentos, 2) cantar con kareoke o pista de música, 3)
rutinas de baile, piruetas, gimnasia, etc. Lo que NO será permitido es cantar con una PISTA CON VOZ. ¡Queremos
escuchar SU voz! Si van a actuar con un grupo: cada miembro debe tener el permiso de sus padres, debe estar
pasando sus clases y debe tener la recomendación de su maestro.
Si la actuación reúne la criteria anterior, podría ser seleccionado para actuar frente a la escuela el Jueves 19 de
mayo de 1:30 a 2:30 y nuevamente frente a la reunión de PTA a las 7:00pm. Habrá un ensayo general obligatorio el 18
de mayo de 3:45 a 5:00pm.
Las actuaciones escogidas para el show de talento serán anunciadas el Viernes, 06 de mayo .después de clases.
Todas las actuaciones deben ser clasificadas “G”. NO material sugestivo o inapropiado será aceptado, no
excepciones. Cada estudiante será responsable de traer su propia música y accesorios. Puede ser en un CD o en un
MP3 player.
