Direct Object Pronouns are used when something has already been named. Examples:
Did you buy the hat? Yes, I bought it. ¿Compraste el gorro? Sí, lo compré.
You brought the tickets? Yes, I brought them. Llevaste los boletos? Sí, los llevé.
I listen to Mary. I listen to her well. Yo escucho a María. Yo la escucho bien.

***In English the pronoun goes after the verb.
***In Spanish the pronoun goes right in front of the verb.
