[Cesare]: Ciao, Mike, waiting for more people we could chat on development in Africa. When other people
will join, we deep the agenda. May we begin about the proposals of Panafrican meeting
[Mike]: ok, did you get the email I sent about the session on Pan-African network?
[Cesare]: yes
[Jules]: yes, i too
[Mike]: 1. Jules will you be able to be a co-coordinator?
[Jules]: Yes Mike, i will. I think i can organize my agenda for this
[Mike]: 2. we need to get good participation to give it legitimacy so I propose sending out the email and
the preliminary survey this week. Jules, any chance of doing a translation into French tomorrow?
[Jules]: Thanks! yes i will translated it document tomorrow
[Mike]: I think the coordination should be you and me at the continental level (as for the WAI as a whole)
and then regional or national people participating on a steering committee
[Cesare]: I'd propose to have the signature of 1-2 people "belonging" other net on the first call eg: Koné
Massa.
[Mike]: Cesare, I think Koné Massa is key, yes
[Jules]: Yes, i'm ok with these
[Mike]: and perhaps the guy from Senegal...Badara?
[Cesare]: I'm not sure about Badara. Maybe his regional boss.

[Cesare]: The regional president of cooperative could be involved in the International meeting on Housing
1 billion people.

[Cesare]: Yesterday I've skyped with Koné Massa: they are on war. He justify the French intervention,
but they fear that the war will last a long time. Meanwhile, their actions are blocked.
Even the meeting of inhabitants organizations of West Africa is not confirmed. According to him, Annie is
not working hard enough to find sponsors. He too currently, does not have the ticket to Tunis. So I
proposed to make this meeting as part of the WAI. He agreed and will talk about it with other
organizations.
[Mike]: I think we need to get the general call for participation out urgently and then follow it by specific
calls
[Cesare]: I'm thinking to call him wesdneday, that's after the talk he should have tomorrow with Annie.
Then you should have all the info needed to proceed with him
[Mike]: ok
[Jules]: i'm Ok
[Mike]: so regarding the Call - are we going ahead without the other networks?
[Cesare]: It seems impossible to have a global call, signed by all the international network in a short
time. Unfortunately, also Lorena did'nt reply to my calls. So, we have to proceed right now disseminating
an IAI NL containing the info about the WAI. Not a call, but quite similar.
[Mike]: so we must go ahead alone then
[Jules]: It would be great having them with us at this stage. is there any agreement or arrangement with
them concerning this issue
[Mike]: but they will then respond and accuse us of unilateralism
[Jules]: that's the problem!
[Cesare]: We will disseminate the info about the agreement at People Summit and USF of Naples
[Jules]: Cesare are you in contact with keys persons in this networks, HIC and No Vox?
[Cesare]: No-vox? Koné Massa is the most representative and a friend. In addition we have received
more messages from MDV, Benin and from Burkina Faso.
[Jules]: So can we go ahead with these representative and have their signature on the call?
[Mike]: should Jules and I write to Ana and Lorena?
[Cesare]: HIC? A part Lorena, our friends are working at local level to involve them. It seems me not
useful at this stage. Better to work at local level, directly with "their" social basis.
[Jules]: all right
[Mike]: ok. Agreed. So when does the NL go out, Cesare? Anything from SDI?
[Cesare]: No news from SDI We have planned to send the NL by this week. We have two articles quite
ready, waiting for the meeting of today
But I'm thinking that you could involve Abhalali in the organisation of the Panafrican meeting. So, we will
have more strength on the criticism towards the neo-neoliberal approach
[Mike]: ok - I will ask Bandile what she thinks. You saw the email from Kate and the positive response
[Jules]: yes of course
[Mike]: if we are going to build a broad Pan-African network we must be careful. SDI is very strong here
[Cristina A.]: hola, nos incorporamos muy tarde, lo siento, nos ponemos al tanto de la reunion. estamos

[Mike]: ok so in the next two days we will have the FR translation and be ready to send it to selected

have at least two people from each region on the
[Cesare]: Short: no news from other networks about the WAI. We have relaunched last week the
proposal to organise the prep meeting in Tunis mid Feb. No reply, but I'm thinking that the war and the
political trouble in the region are a serious obstacle
[Mike]: hopefully the troubles will not spread to Tunisia. Anyway we must be positive
[Cesare]: unfortunately there are some problem: political clashes integrist vs/ trade unions
[Mike]: in Tunisia itself?
[Cesare]: yes
[Mike]: integrist = salfist?
[Cesare]: more or less
[Mike]: oh dear - instability will reduce participation in WSF
[Cesare]: and the war in Mali should push some people there
[Jules]: This is not good new for the mobilization
[Mike]: it is going to be difficult
[Cesare]: but we are optimistic. In any case, we will have the news in a time fashion.

[Cesare]: As for the IAI we have registered the following events

provided through the negotiation of Italian delegation and Tunisian trade unions. Asap we will send more
info about all the logistic, including the travels and facilitation for visa, following the agreement reached
with the Tunisian government and Tunis Air.

[Cesare]: we have booked 14 double rooms + 10 single rooms
[Mike]: this will give us a target for participation and we can offer accommodation to strategic partners.
Let us know the rates....it would be good to use this as an incentive

[Ernesto]: Informo que ya se enviaron los mensajes a 25 distintas asociaciones, para la integracion en
skype antes del que termine el mes. Ademas para que se comuniquen con cesare, cristina y el que
suscribe, debo aclarar que hasta ahora no tengo noticias, debere hacer un nuevo llamamiento

[Ernesto]: dentro de la propuestas esta todo lo realizado por aca en Mendoza, y ver como integrar la
demas delegaciones, con la problematica de los endeudados, mendoza rescato a 30.000 afectados por las
hipotecas

participation at WAI?
[Ernesto]: en el dia de mañana tengo una reunion con el ejecutivo, y ahi tendre noticias sobre la
contestacion y/u apoyo

the support to WAI

Cristina, what about the prep of WAI in Mexico (in ES)?

[Cristina A.]: hola, me reubico con ustedes informo brevemente: en mexico tendremos reunion mañana
para dars seguimiento a la formacion de un comite para la AM.
Las cosas en Mexico van de maL en peor, ahora con el nuevo gobierno hay que reempezar negociaciones
y dialogo, estamos en ello. por lo pronto les aviso que Manuel Huerta, compañero fundador de la UCISV
es diputado federal y junto con el podremos activar algunas cosas
[Pedro]: Hola todos y todas, excusen tuve que salir urgentemente de la ciudad...a la muerte de la mama
de un lider comunitario
[Cesare]: Puedes leer los avances previos de esta chat sobre Africa, logistica y taller de victimas de los
mercados inmobiliarios?
Desafortunadament tenemos solo 25' mas y una agenda muy larga.
Sabemos que recien has llegado desde Haiti despues de una semana muy importante de mobilizacion con
ocasion del tercer aniversario del terremoto.Quizas puedes presentar los acuerdos para la AMH? Y
mandar con otro mensaje mas articulado un informe detallado
[Pedro] Gracias todos, voy a leer todo lo que han hecho y luego comento...avanzamos conversaciones en
Haiti para lograr la participacion de movimientos sociales en la AMH...algunas pautas para buscar
financiamiento...
[Cristina A.]: Emilio recien llego en la madrugaad del encuentro mesoamericano contra las mineras.
En fin, despues de mañana tendremos un panorama mas claro de la presencia de Mexico en la AMH
[Cesare]: estan averiguando también con Lorena y otros de HIC?
[Cristina A.]: Todo lo reactivamos mañana, cambiaron de oficina y ha sido dificil ubicarla, mañana hay
movilizacion con el movimiento urbano y esperamos ver a los compañeros/as incluida Lorena
[Cesare]: Pedro, puedes ponernos al dia sobre los acuerdos con los compas de Haiti?
En cuanto a los posibles partners les informo que, en colaboracion con Mike y Mariella hemos logrado
mandar la semana pasada el proyecto para que Misereor apoye la AMH (30.000, 00 Euro, incluyendo
participacion y preparacion)
Sobre el asunto de los partenariado, les informo que ya tenemos la cartas de respaldo AIH para
presentarlas a los posible partner. Ya lo estan haciendo en Venezuela y Mendoza, entre otros. Por lo
tanto, no duden en pedir los envios, precisando a quienes y para apoyar quienes.
[Pedro]: En Haiti hemos discutido ampliamente con el Colectivo por el Derecho a la Vivienda en Haiti
(GARR, FRAKKA, PAPDA, POHDH y DOP) todo lo concerniente a los procesos AIH y especificamente la
posibilidad de participacion en la AMH.
Fundamentalmente con Frakka que agrupa a comites de los campamentos hemos hecho un esfuerzo
inicial. Hemos pedido a Other World que coordina la Campaña Bajo las Carpas apoyar con tiket aereo la
presencia de uno de Haiti y otro de Republica Dominicana como minimo. Ellos lo van a estudiar... Dicen
tienen ahora pocos fondos...
[Cesare]: En cuales eventos podrian participar como contribucion tematica para la AMH final?
[Pedro]: Hay otros varios acuerdos que los informaremos, incluida la participacion en el proyecto de
incidencia sobre Fondos Populares de Financiamiento de Vivienda y la Tierra.
Esa discusion la tenemos que seguir intercambiando el programa AIH es decir, socializando con ellos esa
parte...
[Cesare]: Muy bien Pedro, ha sido un gran esfuerzo, a pesar de todas la dificultades. Si quieres,
podriamos hacer un skype con los compas interesados para avanzar mas rapido
